A Message from the Chief

I, along with Cook County Sheriff Thomas Dart, take pleasure in welcoming you to the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department’s website. It is my hope that you find the information provided by this site to be helpful, so you may better understand our role and responsibilities.

We provide a wealth of quality law enforcement services which are at the disposal of the citizens of Cook County, and also to provide cooperative assistance to local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. The men and women of the Cook County Sheriff’s Police are proud to maintain this legacy of partnership with the communities we serve.

As the Chief of the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department, I am committed to devoting our resources to serve the community at-large with integrity, dignity and respect, while providing the highest quality of police service. Our goal is to keep crime levels low, while proactively investigating and apprehending identified offenders, and to promote a sense of well being to keep our neighborhoods safe.
